How to Become an Ambassador
The Lattice Climbers Ambassador program is a self-directed opportunity for high school students to earn volunteer hours. At the same time, they will grow their own personal skills and help other students grow theirs.
- Train to become an Ambassador by signing up for Lattice Climbers (here – click Get Started – use code ClimbSC24 for free access). Then watch the Lattice Climbers video series and successfully complete an exit quiz. Earn THREE volunteers hours for time spent training.
- Apply to become an Ambassador by completing the online form available here. You will be invited to join a Google Classroom where you can connect with other Ambassadors, access Lattice Climbers materials, ask questions, and more.
- Earn up to FIVE hours for time spent recruiting other students to join Lattice Climbers. You will receive 1 hour for every 5 students recruited for up to a maximum of FIVE hours. This will be certified by Lattice Climbers.
- Earn hours by hosting Lattice Climbers Workshops during school lunch or after school. These activities must be certified by a teacher at your high school in order to receive credit. There is no limit to the number of hours a student can earn with LC workshops.
Our Mission
Lattice Climbers was formed with the purpose of helping young adults bridge the gap between formal education and the real world skills needed to succeed in every day life. Ours founders, Ali Kelly and Guang Ming Whitley, spent two years developing and creating a curriculum of two-minute videos. It provides young adults with bite-size bits of information that will help them with adulting, professionalism, financial literacy and more. We also offer age and stage based videos covering everything from post-high school paths to the college application process to college alternatives, and more.
This mission is personal to both Ali and Guang Ming. Ali has supervised dozens of entry-level employees and coached many young adults into successful adulthoods. Guang Ming is the daughter of an immigrant and a first generation college student. When she was applying to college, she did not have any trusted resources to help her. Guang Ming has also worked with young adults for decades through her volunteer work. She has seen firsthand the difficulties of students without the social and cultural capital necessary to maneuver in professional spaces. Lattice Climbers’ video series is all the golden nuggets of advice that Ali and Guang Ming believe every young adult should know.
